Welcome to our 2026-27 Season
A season that travels from galaxies to candlelight, from chamber whispers to symphonic thunder, exploring the music that moves us across time, imagination, and the human mind.
The Symphony of the Kootenays’ 2026 to 2027 season is a journey through galaxies, centuries, and states of mind. We launch with Voyage Beyond the Stars, where Jupiter roars, starships leap to warp speed, and epic worlds from Star Wars, Star Trek, Zelda, and Halo surge from screen to stage. Symphonic Christmas follows with pastoral elegance and festive brilliance, from Tartini and Rutter to a playful exploration of the Twelve Days of Christmas and a possible Hallelujah chorus that invites the whole hall to glow. Intimate storytelling takes centre stage in Passengers of Time, our chamber music offering, before electric guitars meet orchestral fire in Symphonic Rock alongside Cranbrook’s own Pretty for the People. The season culminates with Mirrors of the Mind, a deeply expressive program featuring Beethoven, Pärt, Schumann, Britten, and Tchaikovsky, honouring the emotional landscapes that shape great music.
Together, these concerts form a season that is bold, reflective, celebratory, and unmistakably alive.
